NextGen was created to help organisations see that picture clearly, understand what matters, and take proportionate action before a small governance gap becomes a serious one.
Alex McKenzie founded NextGen Governance after recognising a recurring problem: organisations were beginning to adopt AI, but the questions surrounding its real-world use were often being asked too late.
The issue was not whether AI was inherently good or bad. It was whether leadership actually knew where it was being used, what people were trusting it to do, what information was entering those systems, and who remained accountable for the outcome.
That thinking grew from more than twenty years working in commercial leadership, account management and business operations working directly with business owners, senior managers and corporate clients to solve practical operational problems.
That background continues to shape NextGen today.
Practical judgement over unnecessary complexity. Clear evidence over assumptions. Governance that works in the reality of an organisation, not simply on paper.
